Parenting

This week in my Family Relations class we talked about parenting. For myself I was really excited to be able to talk about his topic. Cause I think it’s something that most people can take something away from. For example, if you want to raise your own family most parents want the best for their children and sometimes it can become very stressful thinking about how they want to parent their child. It is scary because there is always that uncertainty because you don’t know how your child will end up. Or even if you don’t have a family and don’t really think that you want to raise a family, I think learning about parenting can be useful because you can evaluate the way your parents raised you and evaluate if some of their parenting styles have shaped you into the person that you are today. But some good points that were discussed in class was letting your children have some choices while growing up but not too many and ways to create responsible adults, so the child doesn't have to...

Financially Responsible

This week in my Family Relations class we discussed the importance of being able to learn to manage your money to be able to stay out of debt. Being able to manage your money can make it a lot easier for you and your family. For example, being able to try and stay out of debt can be easier in one marriage, because it is shown that the leading cause of divorce for many married couples is disagreements over money and financial situations. When getting married or even before you are married you need to start to become financially responsible so if something were to happen you are able to know what to do or you are not put into a deeper hole while already being in debt. It is also important to be able to learn many strategies that can help someone get out of financial debt but to also help being able to stay out of financial debt. When learning about being financially responsible it is important to be able to think about these things before you get married and to be able to talk about th...

Building Communication

One of the most important things to have while in a strong relationship, not only romantic relationships but even friendships, is communication. Without strong communication in our romantic relationships can cause a lack of trust, a lack of support and most importantly a lack of love. But having strong communication takes a lot of work, but it is possible and can make your relationships stronger but making the effort to have strong communication. Some ways that someone can build a stronger communication with someone can be by body language for example tone and expressing the way we feel about certain situations and not letting their emotions build up inside of them until they are miserable.  When we are communicating with someone no matter who it is depending on how a person says it they can interpret it however they hear it. In my Family Relations class, when we talked about the topic of communication my professor talked about how when we talk to other people...

Stress

This week in my Family Relations class we discussed stress. For most people stress is shown as only a negative thing. Though stress is not easy and can be hard on the body, it can also have some positive outcome with it. But people tend to avoid everything at all costs that would give them stress because it’s hard and scary. When stress is an essential to having some of the most important things come into our lives and become the things that we will look back on and remember that even though it was hard it was important to go through. When going through stress it is able to shape us into the people that we are meant to become whether that be helping us grow and that life isn’t supposed to be easy and that it’s necessary.  Though stress isn’t always the easiest thing to go through, it is an essential part of life. An example is that when you work out your muscles when you are working out your muscles you are putting stress on your muscles. But even though it does make you sore f...
